Wula Na Kinu
Kwe! Our identity as Mi’kmaq is reflected in the world around us. Our identity is interconnected to our Land – who we are as a people is a reflection of the landscape we come from For years, discussions of “who is Mi’kmaq” and that “only the Mi’kmaq have Rights in Nova Scotia” have been happening around kitchen tables, around campfires, and in boardrooms. Part of the recognition as a Nation means defining who we are, and protecting our Rights and our homeland. The first step to do just that is to support our people in developing a Mi’kmaq process that clearly defines who we are, by our own rules, and in our own way. Thanks to your input, your advice and guidance, we have created “Wula Na Kinu/This Is Who We Are”.
